Since the launch of the first DECT chipset in 1994 Infineon Technologies (formely Siemens Semiconductor) has established itself as one of the leading IC suppliers of digital cordless standards. Based on the experience gained over six IC generations Infineon Technologies has developed a Universal Cordless Platform (UCP(TM)), which allows the development of DECT (Digital Enhanced CordlessTelecommunications), WDCT(TM) (Worldwide Digital CordlessTelecommunications) and BLUETOOTH products based on one single hardware architecture, thus minimizing the development time and development cost.
